The Check-in Wizard is a self-serve "childrens/students check-in" kiosk ArenaChMS module used to by parents to check-in their kids into Sunday school. It is a collaborative project written in C# by several churches for use with ArenaChMS (www.arenachms.com).

Our primary design goal was to make the process of checking in kids fast -- super fast and super easy. In the single child, single service time scenario, a parent only presses one "comfirm" button to complete the check-in process. If they use a keytag/barcode to identify themselves, checking in literally takes less than 2 seconds. Parents don't have to think about which class they need to check their kids into -- the system automatically does this for them based on the way you configure your classes (Arena Attendance Types).

Our secondary goals were to add key/required features that the Arena check-in system did not have (or still does not have) including:

  • 100% web browser based (works on Windows, Macs, iPads, etc.)
  • room determination based on a child's first letter of their last name
  • room determination based on a child's ability level (infant, crawler, walker) regardless of their age
  • room determination based on if a child is a "special needs" child
  • room balancing (within a set of rooms for any given Arena Attendance Type)
  • check-in "related" people via any Arena relationship types you configure
  • option to not use MS Reporting Services for label printing
